In VIMMS^®, a pavement marking is located at an intersection or along a specified roadway, which is referred to as the On Street, or On Roadway. The Mark's placement is referenced to the On Street in relation to an intersection or cross street. The program performs a check prior to data entry to verify that data has been entered only for valid Roadway Segments. Establishing a Mark's location along a roadway is accomplished by defining its location attributes.

When the Markings Manager^® Icon is selected from the VIMMS^® Main Tool Bar, a list of all Marking Records in the system will be displayed.

In the example above the Marking Records shown on the List Page Tab are sorted by Mark Serial Number. The sort selection can be changed, by double clicking on the desired column heading. A thumbnail image on the right side of this Page Tab depicts a plan view of the intersection showing the current markings at the selected location. The image can be enlarged by clicking on it with the mouse button.

When a Mark Record is highlighted on this Page Tab, its record details can be viewed by clicking on the other Page Tabs to the right of the List Tab.
