Report Manager™
To view another Page Tab for the highlighted Report Record, simply click on one of the desired page tabs across the top of the following graphic display.
This graphic image illustrates the organization of the Report Manager™ Library for Sign Manager®. When operating the program, each of the other asset management module's Report Library, is accessed by clicking on its icon at the Tool Bar.
VIMMS® is supplied with several hundred predefined Standard Reports that are stored in module specific Folders in the Report Library. You can clone (copy) a Standard Report, modify it sort and data components and save the report under a new name in a unique Custom Report Folder.
The VIMMS® Custom Report Generator allows you to create unique report through the selection of specific dictionary items, data elements, date ranges, locations, Primary and Secondary Maintenance Areas, and maintenance activities. New Reports are also saved in the Report Library, but in a unique Custom Report Folder. You can also clone (copy) a previously defined Custom Report, modify its sort and data components and save the report under a new name in the Custom Report Folder.
Any report can be viewed on the PC's screen or directed to a printer, a unique disk file, or an e-mail recipient. It is possible to configure reports for Current Records, Deleted Records or Historical Records.
Three styles of reports are available in Report Manager™. These style selections control which type of processing or analysis the report performs. The following examples illustrate each report style in the form of a report.
Cross-Tab - A Report that analyzes a relationship between two variables and displays the results in a matrix containing a value for each pair of variables. For example, a Cross-Tab might display the types of Work Activity Performed across the top of the page. Then, in the left column of the report list, the Work Crews involved as a single row with the number of associated events listed under the various Work Activity Columns.
In the following sample Report, each Current Sign Type is displayed as a single row and summarized in columns by the reason for the Maintenance Action Taken. In addition, Grand Totals for each Maintenance Action Taken category is shown on the last page of the Report.
Detail - A Report that displays a row of data for every qualifying record. In the following sample Report each Current Sign Type S3-1 . . . (School Bus Stop Ahead) Record with a size of 30" x 30" is displayed on a single row along with its associated Remaining Life and Cost. In addition, Totals for the number of Sign Records by Sign Size and their dollar value are calculated.
Summary - A Report that groups records, then summarizes and calculates information about that group. You specify how to group the records.
In the following sample Report, all Current Sign Type . . . R1-1 (Stop Sign) Records are displayed as a group and summarized by Face Material Type, Sign Size, along with its associated Condition and Sign Cost. In addition, Grand Totals for the number of Sign Records and the dollar value of each group is calculated.
