Vulcan Traffic Management Services (VTMS), a division of Vulcan, Inc., was formed in 1985 to assist Transportation Agencies with the implementation of state-of- the-art dynamic traffic control device asset management systems.
VTMS has been the front-runner in traffic control maintenance management and data collection technology since 1985. With our latest release of VIMMS®, VTMS continues its pioneering efforts in the development of enhanced transportation asset management systems. Our latest product release is a state-of-the-art integrated Asset Management System that provides a transportation agency the most dynamic and user-friendly desktop management tool available today.
VIMMS® represents a compilation of over 40 years professional experience in the design, fabrication, installation and maintenance of traffic control devices as well as software development, brought together in a single dynamic software package.
What is VIMMS®?
Pedestrian and vehicular traffic depends on traffic control devices that are easily seen and recognizable in order to safely navigate designated travel ways. This is especially critical during inclement weather and nighttime hours. Additionally, the increasing percentage of older drivers and their unique visual needs must be a major consideration.
For these reasons, transportation professionals should institute asset management practices, which ensure that these silent sentinels of information utilize the most cost-effective materials, and are replaced or refurbished in a timely fashion. Vulcan's Visual Information Maintenance Management System® offers transportation agencies state-of-the-art database software technology to manage their traffic control devices in a highly efficient manner.
In VIMMS® the following nine optional asset management modules and associated Historical Records are available:
VTMS's Visual Information Maintenance Management System (VIMMS®) program consists of a family of base modules providing current device data for each type of traffic control device along with associated historical maintenance activities. The foundation of each respective device module in the System is a Central Stores Inventory, Pavement Marking Inventory, Road Network Inventory, Roadside Features Inventory, Sign Inventory, Traffic Signal Inventory and/or Street Light Inventory.
VIMMS® is available in either a single PC or a multi-user network version. License fees are based on the number of optional Asset Management Modules you select and the number of PC's that will access the software. Please contact us for details on your agency's specific needs.
