Aerial Marking Systems

Construction activities, logging operations or acts of nature might cause damage to transmission systems in remote areas which results in service disruptions. Often, inspection of these locations must be from the air.

Vulcan’s Aerial Marking Systems are designed to assist with identifying these physical points along pipeline or cable routes by air patrols.

We offer two styles of Aerial Marking Systems . . . Bent Member and Frame.

Bent Member Style

This style utilizes the same type of Aerial Plates as the Frame Style, but it has been engineered for fast assembly and simple installation. Because wind forces tend to concentrate at the center of fixed objects, this unit’s design minimizes horizontal wind loads on the support. Since the assembly is open at both the top and bottom, concealed areas are unavailable for nesting insects. This style also offers easy stacking for shipping and storage. A complete assembly is supplied.

Frame Style

This traditional assembly is fabricated from 1"x 1/8" aluminum angle and welded together. There are many mounting method options . . . round pipe, wood post, U-channel post, or we can design a mounting based on your specific needs.

Aerial Plates

Vulcan’s Aerial Plates are made from .050" or .063" aluminum sheet. Each fabricated plate is screen printed using our superior thermoset Polyester Ink System. You can select the colors. Our standard plates are illustrated below, along with examples of other applications.
