VIMMS ^® Overview

One of the hallmarks of VTMS' Family of Asset Management Systems since 1985, is its ease of navigation among the various System Modules and minimal visual clutter on the User's PC screen.

The VIMMS^® Toolboxes are accessed from the Main Toolbar at the top of the VIMMS^® window.  From this Toolbar, features such as Dictionaries for each Management Module, System Tools, Administrative functions (User Security setup) and Help are readily available.

In VIMMS^® 2000, all Historical Records are multilevel and non-volatile files.  When a Current Record is modified, a historical record is created and it is time and date stamped, and the User's name is logged in the record.  A User cannot modify the computer's time and date in order to backdate maintenance activities for an asset record.

Housekeeping History is maintained for all User activity.  When any modification or addition to a data file is saved, these changes are time, date and User stamped.  This feature provides an audit trail for all System changes.

One of the unique features of each device management module is our dynamic predictive routine which simulates location deterioration (age) of traffic control devices/key components based on user defined anticipated life-cycles.

VTMS's Visual Information Maintenance Management System (VIMMS^®) program consists of a family of base modules providing current device data for each type of traffic control device along with associated historical maintenance activities.  The foundation of each respective device module in the System is a Central Stores Inventory, Pavement Marking Inventory, Road Network Inventory, Roadside Features Inventory, Sign Inventory, Traffic Signal Inventory and/or Street Light Inventory.

VIMMS^® 2000 is available in either a single PC or a multi-user network version.  License fees are based on the number of optional Asset Management Modules you select and the number of PC's that will access the software.  Please contact us for details on your agency's specific needs.
